De Gran Bretaña a una espectacular Gipuzkoa. Un viaje de tres días (Vídeo)

Los responsables de la web Hand Luggage Only nos acaban de regalar,  junto a varias entradas en las que nos cuentan su visita, un vídeo en el que nos resumen, con un lenguaje visual muy especial, su estancia de tres días en Gipuzkoa. Pensamos que se trata de la última entrega de una serie de entradas que han realizado sobre su estancia en este Territorio vasco y que recogemos aquí.

En las entradas de su blog nos hablan de sus ganas de visitar el País Vasco, así como de sus experiencias en los diferentes lugares que han visitado.: Arantzazu, la Cuevas de Arrikutz, Oñati, Hondarribia, Pasaia, Donostia,…. Entradas mas centradas en el paisaje y la gastronomía. Aunque también en explicar cual es la traducción inglés-euskera de 28 expresiones prácticas para un viajero.

El vídeo resumen que nos dejan se trata de un vídeo un poco sincopado, que se centra tanto en los paisajes, como en los hoteles donde han estado, como en la gastronomía que han conocido. Nos ha gustado mucho que las primeras imágenes del vídeo, tras las de la llegada en avión, estén dedicadas a un lugar tan especial como el Santuario de Arantzazu. Un lugar con un valor muy especial para gipuzkoanos en particular y vascos en general. No es habitual, ya que lo obvio es que los visitantes se centren en la costa y en especial en Donostia. Eso no significa, como decíamos antes, que se hayan olvidado de visitar poblaciones costeras, como San Sebastián y Hondarribia.

En todos los casos, como decimos, prestan una atención muy especial a los lugares donde han pernoctado, ofreciéndonos un vídeo diferente y curioso de una visita a esta parte de El País de los Vascos.

Por cierto, siempre que vemos páginas así, nos hacemos la misma pregunta. ¿Cómo hacen algunas personas para poder viajar tanto? Qué envidia.

See what I did there? Hehehe! Right, so this has been kept under wraps for too long and I can’t hold out on you longer! We’ve got some exciting news!!! We’ve been invited to explore the Basque Country in Spain, more specifically, the province of Gipuzkoa over the next few days! And even before you ask – Yes, it took me a while to figure out how to pronounce Gipuzkoa though I’m still not sure I’m doing it right. I will keep you updated on the right pronunciation of the name. In fact, I will do one better, I will keep you updated on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest on what we get up to using the hashtags

28 Basque Phrases To Get You Started When You Visit The Spanish Basque Country!

One of the biggest things I learnt this past weekend visiting Gipuzkoa is that the Basque language is very different from Spanish (or indeed French). I’d been to Spain quite a few times in the past and so I assumed that I would be able to throw around all the Spanish phrases I’d learned (which are really only limited to about 5 basic ones – typically involving food or gratitude).  Boy was I in for a surprise!

Mountains High, Valley Low and STEAKS!!! A First Day in Gipuzkoa…

I feel like it’s a safe assumption to make that you already know by now that we spent a rather long weekened in Gipuzkoa (which is in the Spanish Basque Country). We’ve been nattering away on You Tube, Facebook and Instagram so if you didn’t, where in the world have you been?!?! There is a lot to tell you and so as you can imagine, this is a picture heavy post but I feel this is one of those moments where the phrase “the more the merrier” is quite apt so sit back grab your cuppa (it’s raining cats and dogs here so my cuppa tea feels quite mandatory) and let’s take a trip through the Spanish province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque country.

Following an amazing night’s sleep at Hotel Torre Zumeltzegi (the Count’s home now converted to a hotel), I woke up to this rather mystical looking sight below, which by the way, works better than any cup of caffeine when it comes to making you awake and ready to face the day but first things first – pigging out on the huge breakfast laid out by the hotel!
