Believe it or not, with an Irish first name and a Basque last name, I am from the Philippines. (Nobody ever guesses that.) I was born and raised overseas in Manila. Which seems to prompt the question: “Were you an army brat?” The answer is no. Actually, some of my family is still over there and I try to visit when I can. (sigue)
