200 años después de que las tropas de Napoleón sufriesen en Vitoria-Gasteiz la derrota decisiva que les llevó a abandonar la Península Ibérica, el diario británico de The Times ha dedicado a esta efeméride un articulo. Como se trata de un artículo sujeto al pago previo para su lectura, sólo les dejamos esta referencia.
Nos preguntamos si este diario le dedicará también un artículo al asalto y pillaje al que las tropas británicas sometieron a la ciudad de Donostia-San Sebastián en septiembre de 1813. Tenemos la impresión de que no va a ser así.

Everyone knows about the Battle of Waterloo and most people can remember that it was fought in 1815, but it is probably only military buffs who will recall that 21 June 2013 is the two hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Vittoria, when Wellington broke the back of Bonaparte’s armies in the Peninsular War.
