We couldn’t resist.  So we’re going to share with you this video that was recorded in the Northern Basque Country that is bound to be a hit; even now, as we’re writing, it’s already been viewed 340,000 times.

And why do we say this?

Firstly, because of the incredible performance given by the 185 members of the Choeur des Colibris du Collège Saint Michel Garicoïts in Kanbo, Labourd, País Vasco.  This school is named after Saint Michael of Garikoitz, born in Ibarre, Lower Navarre, quite close to Kanbo, and also in the Northern Basque Country.

Secondly, because of the work chosen, which is nothing less than part of the First Movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, a piece which has two characteristics that make it easier to use in projects like this: its breathtaking beauty and how well known it is.

Thirdly, for where it was filmed, at the imposing gardens at Villa Arnaga, a neo-Basque farmhouse from the beginnings of the 20th century, surrounded by a botanical garden.  It was built by author and playwright Edmond Rostand, who lived there until he died.  It now houses a museum dedicated to this French author of Cyrano de Bergerac.

And finally, the beauty of the takes, which come together in a video that carries us all the way through to the end.

Zorionak to everyone who participated in this beautiful project.

And, dear readers, please enjoy.
