A year ago, the Tourism department of the Basque Government produced a video introducing some of the main characters of Basque mythology in their Tourism YouTube channel.

While that channel may only be focused on the Basque Autonomous Community as opposed to the Basque Country as a whole, the contents of that video are great for learning about the basics of the mythology of our land, regardless of which administrative division the video comes from.

We’re still dreaming about a day when the representatives of all the administrative division governments will understand that it’s best for everyone to work together, without subordinating or imposing.  In a collaboration among equals who understand the cultural, historical, social, and attractive realities of the Land of the Basques are much stronger, and more important, than anything else.

We know that some steps are being taken, and we hope that “common sense” will some day triumph.

We sharing this video, “dreaming”, as we said, that soon we’ll see a video in which, for example, we’ll see Basajaun in Gorbea, and in Roncal, and in the forests of the Northern Basque Country.  Or a video where Mari can travel to all her homes, and take care of all Basques as she’s been doing since the beginning of time.  This would respect Basque culture and, also, be a huge benefit to all.

We’d also like to share two tools that the kids can use to get to know some of the basic aspects of Basque mythology while playing.  They’re games by the Basque company Binary Soul, and can be played on PCs and mobiles.

We’re sharing this video in Basque, English, Spanish, and French, and the links to the articles where we also talk about the Binary Soul games.  We hope you’ll like them as much as we have.
